It’s been a fun 18 months, and we’re so happy you all were along for the ride. Unfortunately, we do not have the capacity to run Orbiter any longer. Our day jobs demand our full-time attention, and Orbiter, while relatively low maintenance, cannot sustain itself without us putting in time that we don’t have.

Because of that, Orbiter will be shutting down on August 1, 2026. There is a simple export tool built into the app that utilizes IPFS, so you can download all of your sites. This should make it easy to migrate to other services, keeping our original vision of a platform without walls.

If you are on a monthly plan, we’ve already cancelled your subscription so you will not get billed again. If you are on an annual plan, we will be reaching out to each of you directly with a pro-rated refund for the amount of time you have left on your plan.
